Basic Blackjack Rules at Unibet

Game Objective

Get as close to 21 as possible without going over (busting). You play against the dealer, not other players. Numbered cards are worth their face value; J, Q and K are worth 10; an Ace is worth 1 or 11.

Hit

Request an additional card from the dealer. Use this when your hand total is low and you need more value to beat the dealer or get closer to 21.

Stand

No additional cards needed. You're satisfied with your current total and wait for the dealer to play out their hand. Typically used when your hand is 17 or above, or when the dealer is at risk of busting.

Double Down

Double your original bet and receive exactly one additional card. The best move when your hand totals 9, 10, or 11 and the dealer is showing a weak card (2–6).

Split

If you have two cards of equal value, you can split them into two separate hands with an equal bet. Each hand is then dealt a new card — giving you two chances to win from one original hand.

Insurance

Offered when the dealer's face-up card is an Ace. You can bet half your original wager that the dealer has Blackjack. If the dealer does have Blackjack, insurance pays 2:1. Mathematically, this is not a profitable bet in the long run.

Surrender

Forfeit your hand and recover half your bet. A smart move when your hand is heavily outmatched against the dealer's — saving 50% of your bet beats the likely loss of 100%.
